The Delaware Victim Assistance Academy (DVAA) offers standardized training that integrates interdisciplinary, evidence-based knowledge and practice to victim service professionals and allies by providing a space for learning, networking, and applying new skills. Through training and mentorship opportunities, the DVAA strives to develop a community of practice where Delaware’s direct service professionals become more culturally sensitive and inclusive, victim/survivor-centered, and trauma-informed in their work.
Course materials for the 5 modules included in this Virtual Training will prepare you to arrive at the in-person DVAA ready to discuss and practice skills with your peers. The approximate time to complete this is 8 hours. Please plan accordingly to meet the 3/17 deadline for virtual course completion.
This course is only for Accepted DVAA Students.
For your convenience, the Virtual DVAA requires you to enroll in a Bundle that contains the 5 prerequisite courses:
- Overview and Introduction to Victim Services in Delaware
- Inclusivity, Identity & Victimization
- Confidentiality
- Victims' Rights in the Criminal Justice System
- Victims' Compensation Assistance Program (VCAP) Eligibility
Enrolling in the Bundle will allow you to access all prerequisite content.
